2026 marks a decade that Yashna International has been a multi-genre singer & songwriter in the music industry.
As an artist she has always strived to exude truth in her songwriting, by translating her real-life experiences, and emotions into songs, which has become a skill that she has perfected over time.
Yashna's influences include powerful female vocalists such as Whitney Houston, Beyonce', Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Avril Lavigne; the list is endless. It is undeniably evident in the powerful vocals that is presented in her music, as well as through the motivational and empowering content often portrayed by it. She has collaborated with many local and international artists such as, Tyler ICU; Vigro Deep; Loki; Sketchy Bongo; TYCHE; Mor; Kyle Deutsch, to name a few.
As a self-managed, independent artist, she has secured placements on TV in the following shows: 1’s & 2's (SABC 1); House of Zwide (eTV); Blood & Water S2 & S3 (Netflix); Devil’s Peak (M-Net); Bad Influencer (Netflix), as well as in adverts with brands like Sportscene, for their Adidas Ozworld Campaign.
Her qualifications include: University of Kwa-Zulu natal (HowardCollege) – BScs Psychology 2014; University of Kwa-Zulu natal (Howard College) - BScs Honours Industrial Psychology 2015; Stargate’s Los Angeles Academy for Artists and Music Performers (LAAMP) 2023; Music Business Lab and University of Pretoria short course in Music Entrepreneurship (Publishing) 2024.
Her accolades include: East Coast Radio’s Be The Band competition (finalist 2017); Winner of Best Musician at the 2020 Durban Creative Awards; Winner of the Joox Opening Act competition 2020; Semi-finalist of Sportscene's "Put Me On” competition 2020; Finalist in Searching for Paradise X WIM X Trace South Africa competition 2022; Nominated for Best Hip Hop Artist at the 1st annual Basadi Women in Music Awards (BIMAs) 2022; Top 10 in the Hunters Cider x Jacquel Culture House featured on MTV Base 2023; Winner of the East Coast Radio Big Walk Anthem 2025.

Yashna has managed to achieve the unthinkable, and continues to push boundaries in all that she does, in the hope that she will eventually attain the pinnacles she plans to reach.
